BA Angus and Agriculture takes extra time with our puppies to make sure they are started properly to become a successful working stockdog.
These puppies have been raised with chickens, cattle, llamas, turkeys, barn cats, and other working dogs. They are over 14 weeks of age before we let them leave our farm to allow for socialization and starting of their essential skills. The pups have been trained to electric wires, auto feeders, and sourcing their water from the livestock trough. They are bred to be working dogs and have been raised with working dogs. Whelped in the cattle barn, they have never been inside the house. Their parents are expert proven guard dogs. The sire lives in Oklahoma and guards goats, the bitch is on site and guards poultry. The pups have been roaming freely on the farm since 9 weeks old and follow their mother when she patrols. Our chicken predators once included coyotes, bobcats, foxes, and raccoons. Since we have brought Great Pyrenees onto the property, our loss to predators has gone down to near zero. We have two Pyrenees working on 7 acres. Great Pyrenees dogs are gentle with children, but highly protective of the stock they guard and their territory.
If you are interested in one of our pups, please fill out the application. Once accepted, a $300 non-refundable deposit will be requested via secure website link (or you may pay with check/money order through the mail).
**These dogs are NOT suited for apartment or small home living. Our ideal owners are producers, farmers, and homesteads that need protection for their animals.

Age: 4
Currently Working: Guardian of Chickens and Goats
About Rusty: Rusty is a very unique dog with extraordinary trainability and responsiveness. He loves to please, yet is extremely powerful and confident and never backs out of a fight. Nothing will stop him from chasing down and killing a coyote who is threatening his chickens or goats. He is also very gentle with the human children on the farm and does not have any food aggression. Rusty has proven himself to be an excellent stud by passing these traits to his offspring in a phenomenal way.
Age: 4
Currently Working: Guardian of Poultry
About Lexie: Lexie is one of 2 sisters we purchased as our first guardian dogs to protect our chicken flock. Before guard dogs, we were losing 20 chickens per year. Now we lose 1 per year. Lexie and her sister work tirelessly to keep bobcats, coyotes, and foxes off the property. Lexie stays close to the poultry and responds instantly to an alarmed chicken squawk. She patrols the fence lines during the day and night. She is also very gentle with the human children and babies on the farm and does not have any food aggression.
We care about the puppies we produce on our farm. Even though we are selling them, we do not want them to go to a family or farm that are not going to use them for guarding purposes. The questions we ask below are a way for us to find this out. Your answers can be as brief or long as you desire. Simple is fine. Each puppy costs $400. Once your application is approved, there is a $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve a puppy.
BA Angus and Agriculture raises working stock dogs. We currently manage two different breeds, Great Pyrenees for guardian dogs and Australian Shepherds for herding dogs. BA Angus maintains memberships with the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA https://asca.org/) and the Texas Livestock Guardian Dog Association (TLGDA https://texaslgdassoc.org/). Both groups have excellent resources about their respective stock dogs.
Australian Shepherd, lead stock dog to move cattle. She is currently 5 years old out of Slash V Kennels in College Station, TX and registered with the Australian Shepherd Club of America.
Australian Shepherd stock dog to move cattle. Currently 3 years old.
Great Pyrenees, lead guardian dog for poultry and the main farm property. Currently 4 years old.
Great Pyrenees guardian dog for poultry and the main farm property. She also patrols the cattle lease behind the main property. Currently 4 years old.
We raise llamas as guardians for our calves. In addition to their hilarious personalities and quirks, they work in pairs to patrol the perimeter and will push out coyotes or stray dogs. They are territorial and see the world in 3 dimensions, watching the ground as well as the air. We currently do not have any llamas for sale. However we do have a stud llama available for service. If you are in need of llama breeding services please contact the farm.
We will respond to your application promptly.
